Jesus Hopped the A Train Directed by Stephanie Gularte and Scenic Design by Steve Decker. I did the Lighting Design. This was my internship Design and was really my first time Designing for traditional theater. I enjoyed knowing far in advance what the show would look like, and last minute surprises were minimal. This was also my first time being entirely responsible for the lighting start to finish. I did the design, hang, circuit, focus, and trouble shoot, which was an adventure in a theatre that was in the bottom of a river boat. I was very pleased with the results. I felt this was where I really began to take shape as a designer and begin to define my own aesthetic. The dramatic and compelling story of A Train brought out the best in my creative work.
